Kym’s | City Restaurant
A follow-up to A. Wong is coming.
And it’s not B. Wong.
Instead, it’s Kym’s, after the original name of the flagship when chef Andrew Wong’s parents ran it back in the 80s. The Victoria restaurant has become a cult hit thanks to its top-shelf dim sum, winning its first Michelin Star last year – and this follow-up is set to be even better.
It’ll be branching out to serve a broader style of Chinese cuisine, in a huge, 120-seater spot in the new Bloomberg Arcade (alongside Caravan, Koya City and Brigadiers). That means a menu of heftier dishes like slow-poached soy chicken and rice, crispy duck pancakes, and Chinese roasts on Sundays – plus a ‘grab and go’ menu for weekday lunchtimes. And for those just stopping by for drinks, there’ll be a huge, circular, dedicated bar area, with beers on tap and cocktails inspired by “China’s diverse food traditions”.
Perhaps even a whisky sweet and sour.
NOTE: Kym’s is set to open in September this year, and will be open daily. We’ll be back with the full scoop when they do…
