The answer’s D.
This is partly because if you eat your cake, then you’ll no longer have it. It’s also because we don’t even know how to go about checking B. But it’s mainly because Lima London in Fitzrovia (which, though it may no longer hold it, was nevertheless the first Peruvian restaurant in Europe to win a Michelin star) is excellent, and so the fact that a second outpost can be found in Covent Garden must be firmly embraced and smothered with kisses. Welcome to Floral by Lima.
Set inside the airy HQ of what used to be one of London’s leading stained glass manufacturers, Floral by Lima serves up ambitious, colourful dishes largely made up of mysterious Andean ingredients which – unless you’re familiar with cherimoya and maiz morado – you’ve probably never heard of. Time to become acquainted, then, with a backdrop of Latin music from live performers every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
Should you be in the market for a something a little more casual – or should you have just forgotten to reserve a table in the main restaurant – there’s also a dimly lit, “no bookings required” bar downstairs, The Lost Alpaca, where you’ll find a menu of Peruvian small plates (like beef empanadas with huancaina, a type of spicy cheese), and an extensive cocktail menu which coincidentally includes several variations of the ol’ Pisco Sour…
…of which it definitely is possible to have too many.
