Oldroyd | Islington Restaurant
Tom Oldroyd started out in life, like many others do, as a baby.
After growing up he cooked in the Bocca di Lupo kitchen; became Chef Director of the Polpo restaurant group; and then, most recently, left in order to pursue the lifelong dream of opening up his own restaurant.
*Shortest Biography Ever*
Like many successful chefs his age, Tom is 33. However unlike many successful chefs his age he decided to ignore the temptation of raising lots of money for his new venture, instead deciding to team up with his mum, dad and fiancée… in order to open the restaurant that he really wanted.
The end result of this story is that Oldroyd is made with love.
You’ll feel it while enjoying a cocktail at one of the small alfresco tables. You’ll feel it by the open kitchen on the ground floor. You’ll feel it in the intimate upstairs dining room, while doting on modern European dishes like smoked pork belly & pea croquetas with truffle mayonaise, and gigantic lamb & almond meatballs with salsa romesco & pickled garlic…
… and you’ll feel it in the chocolate mousse with salted pistachio praline.
By God, you’ll feel it in that.
NOTE: Oldroyd is open daily for lunch and dinner (with breaks between the two Mon-Thurs). You can find out more, and book a table, HERE.
ALSO NOTE: Oldroyd is now meat-free on Mondays.
