Parlez

Parlez.

It’s worth talking about.

An all-day eatery slap bang next to Brockley overground station, Parlez has garnered a rep amongst locals as a reliable spot for any occasion, whether it’s a morning coffee, brunch, dinner, or cocktails.

Coming to us from a pair of South Londoners (previously involved in The White Horse on Brixton Hill), the space is an unobtrusive mix of contemporary Scandi styling with subtle influences from the classic French bistro. Inside you’ll find vintage film posters on the walls, simple café-style tables and Bentwood chairs, leather cushions belted onto banquette seating and a sleek marble bar. And in summer, the restaurant almost doubles in size thanks to the huge al fresco terrace they set up out front.

Parlez Brockley

The day starts here with Full Englishes (veggie, vegan and meaty); pastries; customisable omelettes; French toast and unlimited coffee (on weekends); before slipping into comfort food classics including burgers and brasserie numbers like pan-fried haddock; steak frites and pumpkin risotto. There’s a big emphasis on sharing plates, and if you’re just looking for a couple of dishes to round out your cocktails, there’s nachos; buffalo cauliflower; popcorn chicken and more.

The mood’s convivial, the service cheery, and every Friday night from 9pm, the crowds draw in to soak up live music with local beers on draft, organic wines and a couple of classic cocktails.

After which, it’ll be time to partez.
