Pedler | Peckham
If you’ve ever doubted the merit of this Peckham-based cocktail bar-cum-restaurant…
…you’re going to want to back-pedlar.
Sure, there’s no doubting Peckham as an area is bursting with great places to get your fill: Taiwanese bun house Mr Bao; Salon-sibling Levan; and Kudu (courtesy of Amy Corbin, daughter of Corbin & King). However, even still, Pedler is very much worth your consideration.
It’s brought to us by Peckham locals, Tim Moore and Taskin Muzaffer (also the duo behind small-batch Little Bird Gin), serving up European small plates, alongside a gin-heavy cocktail list, and wines from all over the world.
Space wise, it’s a homely mix of painted wooden furniture, marble tables; vintage cabinets, and mismatched floral crockery. A trip to the toilet will uncover a palm-printed nook, offering up a sharing table surrounded by cushioned benches, ideal for groups.
On Thursday through Sunday they do brunch – generously plated twists on the full English, topped up with everything from avocado to New York cheesy girts. Or, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, ricotta pancakes with poached berries, vanilla cream, maple syrup and mint.
They also do Sunday lunch: 30-day aged Hereford sirloin; slow roast pig belly; or baked sweet potato with ricotta and honey; all served alongside roast potatoes, seasonal veg, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy…
…and likely to float your boat.
NOTE: Pedler is open Tuesday to Friday. For more information, or to make a booking, visit their website here.
