Powderkeg | Battersea Restaurant & Bar
Shaking up powder kegs is a bold move.
But one which can lead to some pretty impressive results, as the new team taking over Powder Keg Diplomacy are out to prove. It’s the same folks who run WC in Clapham (the wine and charcuterie bar in a former public toilet), and now they’ve headed over to Battersea, stripped the bar of its diplomacy and rebooted it as POWDERKEG.
They’ve given the interiors a little freshen up, as well as drafting in former Opera Tavern chef, Ben Mulock to put together a new menu with Spanish and Italian influences. That means you can chow down on dishes like burrata with freshly baked focaccia and a pea and truffle dressing; charred beef brisket with baby gem and pomegranate glaze; and octopus with herbed white beans and preserved peppers; as well as hunks of well-sourced meat and fish cooked up on the grill. On weekends, meanwhile, they’re plating up full English breakfasts, plus new dishes like spiced buttermilk fried chicken with avocado.
And let’s not forget they have an entire menu devoted to G&Ts, too…
But don’t worry. They won’t be shaking those.
NOTE: POWDERKEG is open Mon-Wed 5-11pm, Thur 5pm-12am, Fri 5pm-2am, Sat 10am-2am and Sun 10am-11pm. You can find out more and book a table or an area HERE.
