Rail House Cafe | Victoria Restaurant
One of London’s best-loved restaurateurs is expecting.
Scan results show it’s a big brand-spanker of a restaurant serving modern brasserie food for every time of day.
Adam White, founder of Village London Central – whose portfolio includes Fitzrovia favourite Riding House Café and Bermondsey’s Village East – is adding to his growing family of restaurants with a 330-cover modern café in the new Nova development opposite Victoria station.
He’s softened the striking concrete and glass architecture of the development with bespoke furniture and charming interior touches to give his new baby the neighbourhood feel of its older siblings.
There’s a plush outside seating area with an al fresco bar; a ground-floor restaurant; an upstairs bar and a private dining room for special occasions. Invite your mates; and your mates’ mates; and your mates’ mates’ mates. If restaurants came in sizes, this would be XXL.
Whichever space you find yourself in, stay for the day. The wide-ranging menu will see you safely through from brunch to night cap (the former of which includes green tea waffles and skillets of shakshuka, while the latter includes beer-based cocktails and elegant aperitifs). Expect to see modern brasserie dishes like squid and chorizo salad with pickled chillies, saffron aioli and croutons sit alongside delicious plates of eggs and several Riding House Café favourites.
There’s one other thing Adam can be expecting.
A big pat on the back.
