Rail House Cafe

Rail House Café | All-Day Dining in a Bohemian Setting

Fitzrovia favourite Riding House Café has made tracks for a sophomore restaurant: a 330-cover bohemian café in the Nova development opposite Victoria station.

The founders have softened the striking concrete and glass architecture of the development with bespoke furniture and charming interior touches to give the place the neighbourhood feel of its older sibling.

There’s a plush outside seating area with an al fresco bar; a ground-floor restaurant; an upstairs bar and a private dining room for special occasions. Invite your mates; and your mates’ mates; and your mates’ mates’ mates. If restaurants came in sizes, this would be XXL.

Whichever space you find yourself in, stay for the day. The wide-ranging menu will see you safely through the day, staring with brunches like green tea waffles and skillets of shakshuka. After that, expect to see modern brasserie dishes like squid and chorizo salad with pickled chillies, saffron aioli and croutons sit alongside delicious plates of eggs and several Riding House Café favourites.

The drinks, meanwhile, include a few light, aperitif-style numbers (the Masako Martini blends sake, lychee liqueur, lemon, rose, and mint); then carry on through to house originals like the elderflower-soaked Blackberry Cobbler; before landing on the punchy ‘Taxi’ cocktails which include a number made with smoked butter-washed Maker’s Mark bourbon & house spice syrup.

After which you’ll definitely need to be calling a taxi.

NOTE: The Rail House Cafe is open daily – you can book a table on their website HERE.
