If you’ve long been hoping for a Greek restaurant to open in Shoreditch…

Today’s suvlaki day.

Because Brick Lane’s food offering has just diversified with the arrival of an Athenian food joint. A dinky 45-seater designed by the interiors team behind Sketch and Dishoom, it’s a sophomore restaurant to their original Soho spot – still boasting a menu led by suvlaki meat skewers, cooked up on josper and robata grills and served either on the stick or in pittas.

It’s all followed up by small plates like wild boar sausage with smoked aubergine, spicy king prawn with rose aioli, and Gloucester Old Spot Pork served with grated tomato, tzatziki and red onion. You’ll also find sharing mezze boards loaded with smoked eel with parsley breadcrumbs and balsamic, and sage-smoked siglino with vanilla beans and baby spinach.

The wine list, meanwhile, is an entirely Greek offering, as is the craft beer selection, featuring brews like the Nissos Pilsner and a Marea ale, which they’ll be more than happy to advise you on.
