The Dining Hall at Harrods

We’re probably going out on a bit of a limb here, but there likely aren’t that many dining halls in the world in which the chefs involved have six Michelin Stars between them.

But the newly revamped Harrods Dining Hall is one of them.

Freshly refurbed & relaunched, it’s now home to half a dozen high-end restaurants all packed into one elegant package. The classic vaulted ceiling has kept its beautiful decorations, but it now overlooks a space that’s centrepiece by a figure-8 sushi bar, which itself is surrounded by smaller dining bars, each of which has it’s own identity, and a raised platform for live music.

All told, you’ll now find:

Sushi By Masa – The centre of the space, both physically and spiritually, it’s run by chef Masa, whose three Michelin Stars really speak for themselves. Expect the finest fish prepared in the finest styles.

The Grill – This is the venue’s steak house, where you can get everything from a Wagyu cheeseburger to a rotisserie chicken, and an English Longhorn tomahawk steak.

Kinoya – This ramen bar is run by self-taught chef Neha Mishra, who won a Bib Gourmand for her Dubai restaurant. The broths are hearty, the noodles are bouncy & fresh, and the sides (wagyu skewers, miso aubergine, burnt butter scallops, etc.) are absolutely delicious.

Assembly – Run by Greek-born Athanasios “Chef Tommy” Kargatzidis, Assembly is a Middle Eastern meze place specialising in skewers. You’ll find everything from chicken thigh, to lamb, to ox cheek, and beyond, but the standout dish is the meltingly good miso butter scallop.

Pasta Evangelists – Yes, they’re supposedly a delivery company. But, also yes, they have an excellent pasta bar, here run by two Michelin Star chef Giancarlo Perbellini. You’ll find classics like spaghetti with clams & white wine; pappardelle with beef ragu; or a classic cacio e pepe, but there are also a few of Chef Perbellini’s own creations (mixed seafood lasagne, ravioli with braised venison, etc.)

Kerridge’s Fish & Chips – We all know this one. Tom Kerridge, the man who made a Michelin Star pub, has opened a chippy. You’ll find crisp fish, triple cooked chips, prawn cocktails, minted peas, and soft serve ice cream.

And, unlike other restaurants, when you’ve finished your meal you can pick up a designer suit on your way out.

NOTE: Harrods Dining Hall is open daily. You can find out more, and book a table at their website right HERE, although they also take walk-ins.
