Despite the name, The Patio doesn’t actually have a patio.
But it does have 5,340 sq ft of restaurant spread out over a five storey building with its own rooftop bar.
So, it evens out.
It’s the highly ambitious London debut from Brandi Akpobome, who already has a restaurant in her native Lagos called The Patio which, it should be noted, actually does have a patio. Here, she’s bringing the same West African vibes, with a modern Nigerian menu.
And as for what she’s done with all that absolutely vast amount of space? Well, going floor by floor, we start with the basement where there’s a cocktail bar. Above that on the ground floor is a casual dining area for small plates. Then, on the first floor there’s a larger, more informal dining space, while above that is the private dining are on the second floor. And finally, the third floor (and fifth level in total) is the roof terrace.
Lastly, just to keep the atmosphere heady, there are regular DJ sets, and events playing soul, funk, neo-soul, jazz, R&B and “alté music”, which is a modern fusion genre of from Nigeria.
