Things To Do

About Us

We’re about to get a light show telling the story of “13.8 billion years of history” projected onto the side of The Tower of London.

It ought to be a captivating experience.

About us

From 16th to 19th November, the iconic landmark will be the canvas upon which a light show called ‘About Us’ will be splashed in vivid colour. That show has already taken a tour around the country at five different locations in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, where it’s been supported by local singers & choirs, who’ve all performed the original score composed specifically for the piece.

Here in London, the whole tour is culminating in a show that combines singers from all five locations (with members of Codetta, Hull Freedom Chorus, Glasgow City Chorus, Côr Dre, Côr Eifionydd, and BIG Hat Factory Choir all set to perform), as well as poetry from leading wordsmiths, and a multimedia installation just for good measure.

About us

The whole thing is going to take about 25 minutes, and will be shown daily for the duration of the pop up, running every 30 minutes between 5.30pm and 9.30pm (when it’s dark enough for the colours to pop). It’s all completely free too, thanks to the fact that it’s been commissioned as part of a programme called ‘UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK’, which used to go by the nickname ‘The Festival of Brexit’ before some bright spark came up with the idea to call it literally anything, anything else.

So, you know, at least we got this cool show out of it.

NOTE: About Us is showing at the Tower of London from 16th-19th November (every 30 minutes between 5.30pm and 9.30pm). It’s completely free, and you can find out more at the website right here
