BFI Flare | London’s leading LGBTIQ+ film festival
BFI Flare is the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival, and this will be the largest BFI Flare yet.
That means a whopping line-up of shorts, feature films and panel discussions, will be hosted for your viewing pleasure at the Southbank between the 19th – 30th March. Some of the highlights include:
Departures – “Based on a real heartbreak, Departures is a must-see northern comedy drama that dissects a toxic relationship from all angles.”
If I Die, It’ll Be Of Joy – “Following the lives of three elderly activists, Alexis Taillant’s moving film gives a voice to members of the queer community who are often silenced.”
Four Mothers – “Darren Thornton’s second feature is a delightful and heartfelt dramedy about one people-pleasing son and four extremely demanding mothers.”
Manok – “The owner of a South Korean lesbian bar, trades rainbow lights for small-town politics when she moves back home and challenges her ex-husband for mayor..”
Sandbag Dam – “The relationship between two young men causes upset in a small Croatian village with a very traditional outlook on life.”
And that’s not all – there’s also the Opening Night Gala, The Wedding Banquet, the Special Presentation, Dreams in Nightmares, and the Closing Night Gala, Night Stage.
It might be in its 39th year and approaching the big 4 0 but it’s still got flair.
NOTE: BFI Flare takes place from 19th to 30th March at BFI Southbank. You can find out more, and get tickets on the BFI Flare website.
