It’s not just the kind you find yourself having the morning after a particularly wild night out.
In many cases, it can be a completely respectable affair with free-flowing cocktails and breakfast pizzas, served in the psychedelic kitchen of a time-travelling maisonette from the 70s.
…Allow us to explain.
If you haven’t yet visited Bobby Fitzpatrick in West Hampstead, you won’t know about its wood panelling, formica tables and gallery wall of celebrity autographs. Nor will you know about their daiquiri slushies topped with cake sprinkles, nor their distinctively retro food offerings.
The good news is that you can catch up on it all rather efficiently at their new bottomless brunch; which is unique in that it pretty much comprises their evening menu, with a heap of more breakfast-appropriate dishes attached – meaning you can take your pancakes with a chicken dipper chaser, if you so wish.
Those pancakes come triple-stacked (with fillings stuffed between each layer, of course) and can be ordered either as sweet buttermilk numbers, or fluffy, savoury potato pancakes. The former’s a perfect partner for the bacon and banana with pecans and maple syrup; the latter, with poached egg, smoked salmon and sour cream; mushrooms and blue cheese; or guacamole, grilled corn and salsa. And if that doesn’t float your boat, there’s also breakfast pizzas topped with huevos rancheros or spinach, bacon and hollandaise, as well as banana pie with ice cream…
For which it might seem a little early in the day, but just remember you’re probably already on your third drink by now – quite possibly a Bobby’s Spritzer (white wine and Ting), a slushy banana daiquiri, or a Planters rum punch – and leave your fancy 21st century morals at the door.
NOTE: Bobby Fitzpatrick’s bottomless brunch is available every weekend – you can book yourself a table right HERE.
