It’s terrible when people act like they’re above everyone else.
Unless they’re on a rooftop of course, in which case it’s entirely justified.
And speaking of which, the scenic rooftop bar on top of Peckham‘s Bussey Building is now back for the summer.
Known to all as the Bussey Rooftop Bar – because that’s where it is – it’s a casual but atmospheric setting for a drink, with a huge, flower-laden pergola sheltering the roof; high tables ideal for big groups; and colourful rugs scattered across the floor. They haven’t gone particularly big on the individual design touches, but then, there’s no need to when the spaces where walls would usually be are instead given over to 360º panoramic views across the city.
You’ll find a wide selection of drinks behind the bar including a selection of weather-appropriate cocktails, from Pimms to Palomas and Elderflower Spritzes. And with one eye on the ‘big summery get-together’ market, there are some good value deals to be had, from Thursday’s cocktail pitchers (serving four) to the happy hour deal running from Sunday – Wednesday, 5-7pm. And for the brave, they also do paddles of six miniature negroni shots.
Bussey Rooftop Bar also has a solid food offering thanks to charity pizza outfit Share A Slice, who will not only furnish you with some top quality dough, but donate one to someone in need as well.
And the best part? On the rooftop next door you’ll find the Rooftop Film Club back for another season…
…which is a reel treat.
NOTE: Bussey Rooftop Bar reopens on 18th April 2024. You can find out more, and book a table for drinks and/or pizza right HERE.
