Looking for a decent night out that, when spoken aloud, also sounds like it might be a good BBQ recipe?
Welcome to Charcoal Beats.
It’s taking place at INO Gastrobar on the 7th & 8th of December, and it’s essentially a night of charcoal-scorched Greek food & barrel aged cocktails set to tunes from a high-end DJ.
Just in case you’ve never been to INO, you’ll find it just off Carnaby, tucked away from the heaving masses on the tranquil little haven of Newburgh Street. It comes to us courtesy of an all-Greek team (Messrs Andreas Labridis, Nikos Roussos and Georgianna Hiliadaki) who already have a Two-Michelin Star joint in Athens itself. Here, they worships at the altar of charcoal cooking, riffing off the traditional Greek tavernas that speckle the countryside.
For Charcoal Beats, you can expect music by DJ Costis (one half of the popular Athens based DJ duo/record label Black Athena); a specially created list of cocktails (including their festive cinnamon Old Fashioned, and their citrusy Lemonjito); and dishes like the restaurant’s signature Taramas with Greek bottarga; a crispy ‘Octopus taco’; an all-new ‘Maniatiki’ which takes traditional Greek handmade pasta and adds in some fresh black truffle; and a crispy filo pastry topped with pomegranate and charred beets…
…so they do have charcoal beets.
NOTE: Charcoal Beats takes place at INO Gastrobar on the 7th & 8th of December from 6pm. You can find out more, and make a booking at the website right HERE.
