However if you head along to One Marylebone – a Grade I listed 19th-century church lined with imposing colonnades, lofty ceilings and atmospheric cloisters – between the 30th of March and the 1st of April, you’ll very likely find it…
Because Cocktails in the City is back for the fifth year in a row, once more bringing with it the most concentrated collection of earth’s preeminent cocktail-making talent alongside –
1) 25 pop up bars in the grand hall, ranging from top-shelf London speakeasies like Cahoots, Reverend JW Simpson and the London Cocktail Club, to brand new openings like retro Kingly Court haunt Disrepute, and stalwarts of the London cocktails scene like Artesian Bar (which has now won World’s Best Bar at the World’s 50 Best Bar Awards four times in a row);
2) A second-floor gallery transformed into a Nordic den, with bars all the way from Oslo, Copenhagen, and Stockholm serving up Woodford Reserve concoctions;
3) Cocktail menus and signature serves from each bar showcasing upcoming cocktail trends; from foraged shrubs and vegetable extracts to retro flavours and house-made infusions. You’ll taste everything from liquor-laced purple carrot cordial, designed especially by The Walrus Room, to the small-batch concentrated tonic syrup created by gin den 214 Bermondsey according to a century-old recipe; aaand
4) A chance to shake things up yourself, with Rum Punch masterclasses from The Duppy Share, plus a hidden, fairy-lit garden where London micro-distillers Sacred will be running bespoke gin-blending experiences, helping you to balance botanical infusions to your own personal tastes…
… just for good measure.
