Cocktails in the City Summer Edition | Partner Content
Despite happening twice a year, there’s always a new reason to visit Cocktails in the City.
…They’re very good at shaking things up.
And the liquor-laced weekender is rolling its bottle-clinking wagon back into town for the summer, setting up an al fresco pop-up cocktail festival in Bedford Square Gardens, and bringing together 25 of the finest bars in London (and, by extension, the world) for tastings, masterclasses, and, well, a lot of cocktails.
Like most good drinking dens, many of these bars are usually subterranean hideouts – but here you’ll be free to peruse them as you amble around an insane sun-dappled, bunting-strewn, tree-lined garden square. And this year, you’ll find yourself stumbling across places like the award-winning Nightjar, cheery Blitz-era drinking den Cahoots, inventive East End speako Cocktail Trading Company, time-travelling booze parlour Mr. Fogg’s, and art deco bolthole The Bloomsbury Club Bar. And that is literally just a fifth of them.
Each guest bar is teaming up with a spirit to create a signature, never-before-drunk serve. And since they’re all competing to be crowned best bar, they’re going to be going all-out. Expect everything from cocktails made with artichoke dust and toasted banana purée, to drinks like the Stay Classy, San Diego, which comes bearing RON BURGUNDY’S FACE.
Alongside the cocktails, you’ll also find – ready? – a dedicated spot for tequila and mescal tastings; a blend-your-own whisky station; an immersive Gatsby-styled experience from Nightjar; BBQ street food courtesy of the haggis-pop wielding Scotsmen at Mac & Wild; live music and DJs; and, of course, political satire themed mini-golf from Mother Putters.
Meaning you’re perfectly placed to follow up a good shot with a good shot.
NOTE: Cocktails in the City takes place on 28th and 29th July at Bedford Square Gardens. Tickets cost £15 (includes one drink) and can be purchased online HERE.
