Cocktails In The City 2024

Cocktails In The City is back, bringing its rather delicious cocktails back to a rather lovely part of the city this weekend.

On the off chance that you haven’t had the literally quite spirited pleasure of the CITC experience, here’s the lowdown: it’s basically the best al fresco summer garden party in town, packing in 20 of the capital’s (and by extension, the world’s) best bars, plus non-stop live music, a lot of delicious street food, garden party games, tastings, masterclasses, and lots more besides into a sun-dappled, bunting-strewn private garden in the centre of town.

And as an elegant little garnish, Nudge readers are getting 25% off the ticket price.

So what exactly are you in for? Well, you’ll weave through the smart Georgian terraces (a stone’s throw from the British Museum) to Bedford Square, to discover a festoon-lit garden thrumming with the sound of ice shakers, live music and a lot of people in a very good mood. Head inside, and you’ll be met with a micro-village of pop-up bars, each with their own distinct personality, and each with an absolutely stellar bar team.

We don’t use the term ‘cream of the bartending crop’ lightly. In fact, we’ve never said it. But in this case, it’s entirely justified, because the CITC team seem to have an uncanny ability for bussing in only the best talent. This July, you can expect to find the likes of The Hoxton, London’s oldest restaurant, Rules, Royal Cocktail Exchange (the new opening by the Cocktail Trading Company team) , Cafe Pacifico, and literally over a dozen more excellent movers & shakers too, all within touching distance of one another.

To balance out all those drinks you’ll also find street food courtesy of gyozas and bao buns from Rainbo, Souvlaki wraps and halloumi fries from Get the Greek, and fresh pasta from Officina 00. And that’s not all.

Because you’ll also get to enjoy live music all day and night from Piano Works on the main stage; garden party games (including whiff whaff, croquet, petanque, archery, coconut shys, and cornholing); some ridiculously satisfying ice carving workshops; ongoing talks and demonstrations from drinks experts; the opportunity to shake your own drinks at TT London’s cocktail-making stations; annnd a silent disco, which they describe as “a transformative experience where cocktails and music intertwine”, and we describe as…

….“unexpectedly fun after drinking cocktails in the sun for three hours”.
