A wise man once said, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”
You should have seen the phrases he was coming up with before that one.
What’s less acknowledged, however, is that if at first you do succeed, you should probably do it again. And that’s precisely the advice that Grey Goose Vodka seem to be following. Because having transformed the Bussey Building rooftop into a miniature Montmartre for their screening of Amélie last month, they’re now migrating west for their second immersive cinema event – this time bringing together chocolate and cocktails.
It’s all happening high above the rest of London, amid the picturesque, clandestine Kensington Roof Gardens. Perched on top of an old art deco department store, you’ll find a labyrinth of Tudor-styled courtyards, a sprawling English country garden (complete with resident flamingoes), and a Spanish walled garden lined by lantern-lit Moorish cloisters, draped in bohemian throws and cushions.
Add to this delightful al fresco setting a pop up cinema courtesy of Rooftop Film Club screening the classic romance Chocolat, and you’re all set. As the film plays out, you’ll enjoy cocktails and a three course feast inspired by key moments in the story – so you can expect dishes like quail served with a chocolate sauce, and a Grey Goose vodka hot chocolate infused with chilli, all put together by master chocolatier, Paul A Young.
And just to avoid any risk of chocolate overdose, for dessert you’ll be able to indulge in the Grey Goose Café Gourmand. This little number comprises a bespoke espresso martini – created with different flavoured vodkas to suit your own taste – alongside four, quintessentially French, petit fours.
Essentially, it’s a recipe for success.
NOTE: ‘Pour l’Amour du Chocolat’ is taking place on 27th September from 7pm-midnight. Tickets cost £50 (including a complimentary Grey Goose Le Fizz cocktail, choice of Grey Goose Espresso Martinis, and the three course meal) and can be booked HERE.
