Looking for a Halloween light show?
Join the Kew.
The famed botanic paradise will be drawing on its Christmas light energy & expertise to throw on its first ever Halloween light show this year. It’s only going to be around for roughly two and a half weeks, as opposed to the full month and a half that the Crimbo lights get, and it’ll only run four around 1.5km, as opposed to the full 2.7km stretch that the Crimbo lights get, but we’re not here for the maths, we’re here for the comforting familiarity of glowing pumpkins that look like they could eat you.
The trail itself has been tailored to fit three categories, that each level up the freak-out level a little bit. There are the family-friendly Daylight tickets, the spooky-adjacent Twilight tickets, and the scary-as-it-gets Moonlight tickets.
Throughout all of them there’ll be “Possessed Pumpkin Farm, a Carnivorous Tree lit by Kew’s Tree Gang, a Spiders Web light tunnel, a Monsters Lair, Kew Cemetery and Laser Garden”. As night falls, however, there’ll also be a band of actors unleashed (including a headless horsemen) ready to put on fire performances and generally make sure your heart rate matches the strobe lights.
And as you might expect, you can also get plentiful hot toddies, hot chocolate, and marshmallows for you to toast…
…if you find a convenient pumpkin.
NOTE: Halloween at Kew is set to run from 18th to 26th October (6pm to 10pm) and 27th October to 3rd November (4pm to 10pm). Tickets cost £17-£20 per adult, and are available from the Kew Gardens website.
