Harvest Festival at Craft London

Harvest festivals.

In the world of chefs, they sort the wheat from the chaff.

And one place where you can count on getting the good stuff this month is Craft London, the subtly spectacular café/restaurant/bar/all-round infallible date spot perched on the Greenwich Peninsula. As part of their ongoing monthly Feast series, September’s dinner comes in the form of a hearty, convivial feast in honour of Autumn’s bounty, served up on heaped platters, family-style.

If your family could cook as well as Stevie Parle, that is.

You’ll arrive to a warming aperitif put together with Balvenie whisky, before taking your place at the long communal tables, and tucking into a four course banquet of seasonal delicacies, including –

An amuse-bouche of fermented plums and pickled damsons, served with yoghurt made in house, and warm flat breads;

A bevy of starters including squash and pickled walnut salad; game terrine; fermented beetroot with labneh; and a charred leek salad;

A decadent main of whole brill with a foraged gooseberry dressing; pork rack with fermented honey glaze; grilled corn; and tempura mushrooms with pear dripping; finishing off with…

An unapologetically show-stealing, flaming baked alaskawith blackberry sorbet and damsons.

And if that sounds over the top…

Frankly, we don’t give a damson.

NOTE: Harvest Festival will be taking place at Craft London on 28th September from 7pm. Tickets cost £45 (including all the food and a welcome drink), and can be booked online HERE.

ALSO NOTE: We have a lovely table for two (with all drinks included) to give away on instagram this coming Monday 11th. Keep your eyes peeled…
