Jimmy Garcia, prince of pop ups, tycoon of temporary restaurants, baron of BBQs…
His BBQ Club has sold out bewilderingly quickly every year, and because he’s not a total idiot, he’s bringing it back. He’s returning to his tried & tested spot on the Southbank, where the Thames-side venue will be split into two distinct areas:
THE BBQ CLUB CABANA
This bookable rooftop area seats 60+ people, and it’ll serve six-course tasting menus, cooked table-side by a chef on the BBQ built into the very table you’re sitting at. The menus themselves will be “interactive’ (that is, you’ll be cooking one part of each dish yourselves, so you can make sure they’re done to your taste) and will include dishes like maple wood hot smoked trout and burnt lemon tartare; chicken & pancetta ballotine with brown butter panko and charred baby gem; and grilled peaches with raspberry sorbet.
THE BBQ Club Street Food
Downstairs, there’s the more casual bar space, where a Little Green Egg BBQ will be scorching BBQ burgers; lamb kebabs; halloumi fries, and all the variously delicious things that you tend to get from BBQs. Plus, that’s where the bar is too, if you’re in the market for something refreshing & gin-filled. Which you probably are.
Welcome to the club.
NOTE: The BBQ Club is open from 7th May until 17th September. You can snag your table, and find out more at their website right HERE.
