Lemonade Re:Made | An Orchestral Rendition of Beyoncé
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
And when Beyoncé drops a visual album unannounced, remake Lemonade.
The hour-long epic won a slew of awards, and now XOYO are paying homage to Queen B with an entirely orchestral rendition of the full album, set to the dramatic backdrop of the accompanying film.
Last time they performed, the run immediately sold out and there was a reported three minute standing ovation for the orchestra. Which isn’t surprising, considering they’re a collection of some of the most talented, and indeed badass, classical musicians in the city, who have previously turned their hands to reimagining the works of Missy Elliot, Kanye and Destiny’s Child.
Aaand as if that wasn’t enough, they’re also going to be tackling Stranger Things at the end of the month, with full brass, strings and woodwind versions of Series 3’s 80s soundtrack, featuring music by Toto, Joy Division, The Police and The Bangles.
Sounds like they’re adding another string to their bow.
NOTE: Lemonade Re:Made will be performed at XOYO on 1st August, with Stranger Strings on the 29th. Tickets cost £15 and can be booked HERE and HERE.
