Three Women – Lisa Taddeo on Love, Sex and Desire | In Conversation with Hadley Freeman

NOTE: sales for The Nudge’s allocation of tickets have now closed.

At this point, it seems that we can roughly divide the world up into two categories: those who admire Lisa Taddeo, and those who simply haven’t heard of her.

For anyone in the latter category, she’s an award-winning journalist, turned author, turned global phenom. And that last part is thanks to her latest non-fiction book, Three Women. In it, she details the lives & sex lives of a trio of American women from vastly different walks of life, in brutal, beautiful detail. In all, it took nearly a decade of research, thousands of hours spent in their company, and hundreds of trips across the country to visit each of them.

The result is a book that’s had an instant, and heavy impact on the cultural scene, and has been hailed as a feminist classic right out of the gate. It’s been variously described by critics as “The greatest book I’ve ever read about women and desire” (Rachel Cooke, Observer); “The kind of bold, timely, once-in-a-generation book that every house should have a copy of” (New Statesman); and “A book that blazes, glitters and cuts to the heart of who we are” (Sunday Times). Caitlin Moran says “I will probably re-read it every year of my life”. It’s that good.

Now, Lisa Taddeo is headed to London to take part in an illuminating discussion, hosted by the venerable people at the How To Academy, whose own mission statement is to get the world’s most influential voices to London to share their ideas. It will take place at the astonishingly grand-looking Emmanuel Centre on the 29th of November.

The person interviewing/conversing with her will be journalist Hadley Freeman who has spent the last two decades at The Guardian “where she has won some awards and lost many more”. They’ll be talking through the book, the women, and the current state of love, sex, and desire across the globe. Obviously, it’s going to be the kind of talk that sells out instantly – which is why we’ve got you first dibs on a special allocation of tickets. So hit up the box to the right…

…if you desire to go.

NOTE: Three Women – Lisa Taddeo on Love, Sex and Desire will take place on Friday 29th November 2019 at the Emmanuel Centre. Tickets cost £30-£40 (depending on whether or not you’d like an optional copy of the book).
