London In The Sky 2019

London In The Sky 2019 | Really, Really Haute Cuisine

Putting London in the sky sounds like a terrible idea.

Imagine how much more rain we’d have.

But it’s not quite so bad when you realise it more accurately entails lifting a 22-seat dining table 100ft in the air, to create what is essentially London’s highest al fresco restaurant… without a floor.

It’s in London for a very specific 76 days this summer, pitching up by the O2 centre in Greenwich. With food courtesy of Battersea restaurant The Social Pantry, you’ll be able to take to the skies for everything from breakfast through to dinner, including prosecco and cake for elevenses, and G&Ts as the sun goes down.

Those breakfasts will furnish you with the likes of eggs benedict, pancakes or smashed pea on sourdough, with the requisite pastries and OJ; while lunch and dinner take you around the world with cornfed chicken and mash; tandoori cauliflower; and heritage tomato, feta and olive salad. There’s even one-off events like the ‘Afrosky brunch’, which’ll see chef Paule Beke showcase dishes in a four-course tasting menu inspired by her African culinary roots.

Whatever you plump for, you’ll get about 45 minutes overlooking the glorious London skyline, with all of the glittering skyscrapers of Canary Wharf behind you, before they start the descent.

Just to bring you back down to earth.

NOTE: London In The Sky 2019 is running in Greenwich until 15th July. Tickets cost from £69-149, and can be booked right HERE.
