Moonshine Saloon

If you’re in London and you fancy drinking cocktails inside an immersive wild west saloon bar, well…

…this is the only option.

So luckily that it’s actually genuinely really, surprisingly good – great actors, an amazing set, and lots of fun: it’s a one way ticket into a world of cowboys, hard liquor bar room brawls, and a straight up, honest escape from everyday life.

HOW IT ALL WORKS

You’ll stroll in off the streets of East London (carrying a bottle of your favourite liquor in your holster) and into what appears to be an actual Wild West street, complete with dirt track roads, louvred saloon doors and cowboy gear slung over the verandahs. Here you’ll be greeted by the King of the Moonshiners, Clyde Cassidy – an illicit liquor smuggler and moonshine distiller who’ll train you in the art of concealment, to get your moonshine past the watchful eye of the sheriff.

Moonshine Saloon

Of course, if you’re to avoid detection, you’ll need to swing by the tailors shop, where you’ll be fitted up by the resident tailor with a Stetson hat, cowboy shirts & accessories. Suitably dressed, your liquor will be safely stowed away (so as not to arouse the suspicion of the sheriff) and you’ll head down the street and into the saloon itself, where you’ll be greeted by the King of The Moonshiners, and where you’ll begin to see the immersive storyline unfold.

While it all plays out, you can join a card game with the colourful characters populating the joint, evade the sheriff’s attempts to get intel on Cassidy, or try your luck at dice.

THE DRINKS

A bit like both BYOC and Alcotraz (the latter of which is run by the same team as Moonshine Saloon, and acts as a kind of sequel to the storyline) you’ll hand over your smuggled bottle to the house ‘tenders, who’ll fashion your personalised cocktails, using their own tinctures, juices, bitters, and cordials, into cocktails like the Bee Sweetenin’ Gin Sour and the Bourbon Gold Rush.

And when all’s said and done, and your evening is drawing to a close, you can even grab some beer, wine, or additional spirits from their General Store.

Which is generally a good idea.

NOTE: The Moonshine Saloon is open Wednesday-Saturday. Tickets cost £34.99pp and include four cocktails made with your smuggled bottle – book ’em right HERE.
