Romeo & Giulietta (or Romeo and Juliet in English) is a small, independent Gelateria in Stoke Newington, serving house-made, mostly classic Italian-inspired gelatos that really are to die for…
It’s comes to us courtesy of husband and wife team Ciprian and Luliana who – originally from Romania – travelled and lived together for a while in Verona, Italy, where they quickly fell in love with the gelato. So much so in fact that when they set off on the next leg of their adventure they decided to take it with them, opening up their very own dream gelato shop in London, along Stoke Newington’s Albion Road.
Nowadays Romeo & Giulietta is never not busy. In fact – particularly in the hot weather – it’s not unusual to find snaking queues of Londoners patiently waiting for a scoop. And why wouldn’t they be when flavours include the likes of ricotta drizzled with sticky caramelised figs; or Biscokrok, piled high with thick chunks of chocolate biscuit. They also offer a range of sorbets, including their extra dark chocolate, deserving of all its hype.
Of course there are occasional moments in life when gelato is best enjoyed from bed, with little to no social interaction, which is why Romeo & Giulietta also offer a delivery service, dropping off 500-1,000 gram tubs direct to your doorstep, filled with up to four flavours of your choice.
Deadly.
NOTE: Romeo & Giulietta is open 2-9pm, Tuesday-Sunday. For more information, or if you’re after delivery, you can visit their website here.
