Rooftop Saunas at Netil House

When the stress of the modern world feels all too much, a session in a rooftop sauna is guaranteed to cure anything that ails you.

Except vertigo, probably.

In the midst of London’s growing fondness for saunas, the half-dozen hand-crafted timber huts sitting on top of Netil House in London Fields have two distinct advantages:

1) They’re private. Meaning that while attempting to destress in the sauna, you don’t need to deal with the mounting stress of avoiding eye contact with a bunch of half-naked sweaty strangers.

2) They’re on a roof. Which means atmospheric vistas of East London’s industrial patchwork stretching out in front of you as you unwind. Plus you can pull a couple of power poses while looking out over the city, if that does something for you.

Three booking types allow you to indulge in anything from a half-hour express slot to the most leisurely 90 minute session, all of which give you and up to three friends access to your own private sauna (heated to a toasty 85°C), open-air cold plunge pools and ice bucket showers; and a nice hot indoor shower stocked with all-natural soap. Just remember to BYO towel if you don’t fancy air-drying on an East London rooftop.

For the 60 and 90 minute sessions, you’ll also have access to your very own ‘cool-down’ area – a private shelter offering complimentary tea & coffee, and a well-stocked minibar. There’s even a little essential oils station so your skin can rehydrate, too.

Afterwards, you can slip through the gate to get into Netil 360’s rooftop bar without queueing (a serious boon in the summer months). But you’re also perfectly placed to take a stroll down Broadway Market or grab a bite in Netil Market; join the roller bladers in Victoria Park and enjoy a Sri Lankan breakfast at Pavilion; go sunbathing in London Fields or, later in the evening, go for dinner at Papi or Brat x Climpson’s Arch.

So when it comes to the rest of the day…

…well, you can relax knowing that’s covered, too.

NOTE: The Rooftop Saunas are open daily – booking ahead is strongly recommended, and you can do that on the Rooftop Saunas website.
