Sin Gusano | Pop Up Mezcal Bar
Legend has it that mezcal was invented when a lightning bolt struck the heart of an agave plant, cooking and opening it, releasing its juice.
Which, let’s be honest, sounds like something made up by someone who had drunk quite a lot of mezcal.
And now you can discover all the wondrous, powerfully tasty variety that it’s since evolved into thanks to Sin Gusano; London’s dedicated roving mezcal tasting room that’s popped up for a third time.
This time, it’s made its home in Soho, taking over Milk Bar and filling it with candlelight and bottles of the stuff to take away. Or, you can stay in and sample the regularly rotating tasting flights, which highlight how production techniques, plant varieties and different regions can influence the final taste. On the menu you’ll also find three cocktails, including the Sin Fashion (with agave distillate, chocolate bitters, agave syrup and burnt orange); and three boilermakers. A new addition for this pop up, they’ll see mezcals paired as chasers to three beers – a porter, IPA and cream ale.
Don’t worry – the beer won’t steal their thunder though.
NOTE: Sin Gusano is back for its third pop up, running Tues-Sat, 6pm-12am until 21st December. You can find out more right HERE, or book a table via email@example.com
