We’ve had igloos.
We’ve had boats.
And now, joined together in a wonderful, nautical shotgun wedding we finally have igloo boats.
These beautiful floating frankensteins comes to us from the people at Skuna, who have already graced us with a veritable fleet of cruising chimeras, including BBQ boats, hot tub boats, and even hot tub cinema boats. If it’s fun, and can be made to float, they’ll find a way to strap it to a hull and launch it.
As with those, you’ll find these crystalline hemispheres docked in Canary Wharf. Head on down, and the experience will go as follows: after warming up with a welcome glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate, everyone will hop aboard and be taken on a half-hour cruise (piloted by a staff member) across West India Quay. After that your vessel is docked, and there’s an hour-long fondue session, of either molten cheese or chocolate – or both – as well as a whole bunch of lovely things to dip, and some booze.
There are hot water bottles, blankets, and a bluetooth speaker for you to play your own jams. This isn’t their first rodeo, so you can probably expect a pretty well-oiled machine.
Now, we patiently wait for the inevitable karaoke boats…
NOTE: Skuna’s igloo boats are available to hire from November 21st, with space for up to 9 people, starting at £45 a head. You can find out more, and make a booking at the Skuna website or Instagram.
