The folks at Skuna have give us BBQ Boats, Hot Tub Boats, and Igloo Boats – and now, as if to complete the delightfully eccentric nautical bingo card, they’re giving us, the UK’s first, Sauna Boat.

Yes, London’s leading purveyors of unusual aquatic experiences have done it once again, taking an idea born in Sweden (the spiritual home of saunas) and sailing it over to our own shores. But the best bit? Nudge Members +3 are getting 50% off bookings from 29th April – 20th May.

The Sauna Boat is their biggest and most ambitious attraction yet – the product of a pilgrimage taking them across Scandinavia in pursuit of the ultimate sauna experience. As with their other floating experiences, it’s based over in the Docklands, having taken up permanent residency in West India Quay.

Once you’ve ambled over from the DLR you’ll discover an impressive-looking wooden vessel, a low and square flat-packed alternative to the glistening towers of the financial district. And it’s an alternative in more ways than just architecturally; here, for 60 blissful minutes, you can step away from your phone/screen/Bloomberg terminal, and treat yourself to a proper reset.

The wood-fired sauna hits 70-90°C, and once you’ve worked up a suitable shvitz – chatting to mates, or relaxing solo whilst enjoying the DJ-curated music – you can ascend to the rooftop cold plunge pool, for an ‘invigorating’ 6°C dip, and then do it all again.

The Sauna Boat can house up to 15 people, and you can join a shared session or arrange for a private hire. And of course, once you’ve finished, you can simply clamber into a floating hot tub and sail it over to a floating Igloo and/or BBQ. Presumably.

NOTE: Sauna Boat opens on 29th April. You can find out more or book a session which start from £15 on Skuna Boats website.
