A Festival Of Soundtracks Is Coming To London

Fan of soundtracks?

Then you know the score.

And you’re about to score big, thanks to the inaugural London Soundtrack Festival which is hitting town for a week next March – because the plans sound about as epic as the music they’re celebrating. The centrepiece, main event will undoubtedly be screening of Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring introduced by the Oscar winning composer himself, AKA Howard Shore, AKA the Lord of the Strings. He’ll also be the subject of a big ol’ gala concert at Royal Festival Hall celebrating his immense career.

On top if that, you can expect screenings of big new flicks introduced by the composers (Gladiator 2, Joker: Folie A Deux, etc) and a huge showcase of the greatest soundtracks of all time appropriately called the “Great Movie Songs” concert which will be led by Oscar-winning composer Anne Dudley.

Of course, whether you’re in it for the rich orchestral arrangements of cinematic epics or prefer the electronic textures of video game soundtracks, there’s an event here for you: The Roundhouse will host a night dedicated to the greatest hits from the world of gaming, in which a live orchestra will be playing scores from everything from Final Fantasy to Halo.

It’s a long way off, to be sure, but if this all sounds like music to your ears, then you can snap up your tickets now.

NOTE: The London Soundtrack Festival will take place from 19th–26th March 2025 in venues across London. You can find out more and get tickets at the official website.
