The Royal Opera House Has Gone Online

The Royal Opera House Online | Aria junkies rejoice

You know where the Royal Opera House is playing next?

Overture house.

Because the bods in charge are streaming some of the standout productions from the past couple of decades for free over the course of the next month. They’ll be a mix of ballet and opera on show, and it’ll all be available from both their Facebook and YouTube channels. The lineup includes:

  • Acis and Galatea (The Royal Opera, 2009) – 3 April 2020 7pm
  • Così fan tutte (The Royal Opera, 2010) – 10 April 2020, 7pm
  • The Metamorphosis (The Royal Ballet, 2013) – 17 April 2020, 7pm
  • Gloriana (The Royal Opera, 2013) – 24 April 2020, 7pm
  • The Winter’s Tale (The Royal Ballet, 2014) – 1 May 2020, 7pm

If you miss any of them, or you find yourself turning into a bit of a prima donna when it comes to prima donnas and craving yet more choruses, then the ROH are recommending you check out the free 30-day trial on Marquee TV, which is basically Netflix for the arts. You’ll find a bunch of Opera House content on there, alongside a ton of other high brow viewing.

But sadly, no soap operas

.

NOTE: The Royal Opera House will be live-streaming its shows throughout the next month. Check their website for more info HERE.
