Whisk Dessert Bar | Dessert-Only Restaurant
Opening a restaurant that specialises in desserts can be a little whisky.
So the people behind Whisk Dessert Bar have decided to mitigate that by making theirs a pop up. It’ll kick off this Wednesday, running from 12th-15th and 19th-22nd September, in a (pun massively intended) sweet little spot just off Regent’s Canal.
It’s all run by Chef Patissier Simon Jenkins, who takes this whole dessert thing rather seriously – throughout his career, he’s created desserts for the likes of Marcus Wareing & Gordon Ramsay – and he’s channeling that love into a three-course, all-dessert tasting menu experience here.
So, how does this all go down? Well, your first course will be an ‘Amuse’ consisting of pineapple soft serve ice cream, chili pineapple confit, and spiced crumb. After that you get the ‘dessert,’ course which ranges from wild Bolivian dark chocolate marquise with salted caramel & muscovado honeycomb; to avocado and white chocolate crémeux with torched sweetcorn & chai chili dressing; to caramelised eggy bread with maple syrup parfait & crispy bacon; and even the insane-sounding celery sorbet with blue cheese & rye cracker.
After that, you’ll get some delightful little Petits Fours, including milk chocolate & raspberry truffle; lychee pâte de fruit; and apricot & almond nougat. And if you want, you can match all of the course with either a pairing of dessert wines or exotic teas.
Which should suit you down to, well…
NOTE: Whisk Dessert Bar will run on evenings 5pm-10pm from 12th-15th and 19th-22nd September. Tasting menus are £14 per person (without pairings) and there is 50% off on 12th & 13th September. There are no bookings, and you can find out more right HERE.
