Great Restaurants & Bars Now Offering Delivery (That Aren't On The Apps)

Great Bars & Restaurants To Order From Now

Last Updated: 9th April 2020 | Main image: Oren

As we’ve all seen in the news, London’s bars, restaurants and producers are in an unprecedented moment of crisis. Many of them were even open during the Blitz, and are shutting their doors for the first time in over a century. Of course, it’s all for the greater good – and just because dining out isn’t an option at the moment, doesn’t mean you can’t dine in with some of London’s top eateries and drinking dens. Ever resourceful, resolute and trying to do the best for both their employers and their communities, many restaurateurs have found ways to keep the wheels turning by switching to home delivery, takeaways, or click and collect bundles of ready meals and groceries.

So here are some of the wonderful places you can still support and enjoy from home. We’ll be updating this regularly with new additions as we hear about them (and removing any that stop offering delivery), so keep checking back.

Rice Error by Bao

Rice Error Bao takeaway

As the website succinctly put it, it’s ‘almost Bao, but rice’. Seeing as steamed buns can… well, run out of steam after a trip on a moped, the Bao team are turning their attentions to rice box delivery instead. Launching soon, they’re going to make use of award-winning Taiwanese rice from Chishang, combined with chilli chicken leg, grilled aged beef, prawn or mushroom – plus a soy boiled egg, pickles and fried tofu. You can even get a bucket of Taiwanese fried chicken and hot sauce as a side.
UPDATE 1/04/20: The service is set to launch in ‘2-3 weeks’. We’ll keep you posted.

Oren To Go

Oren Takeaway

After opening to great acclaim last winter, chef Oded Oren’s first restaurant is rolling with the punches and launching Oren To Go. The team apparently considered what kind of comfort food they’d like to have at home – and as it happens, they have great taste. On the menu: lamb and beef koftas with basmati rice; green Iraqi tortilla with olives, feta and caramelised onions; whole roast cauliflower with tahini and pine nuts; and lemon polenta cake with sour cream. Also, wine.

UPDATE 09/04: They’re struggling a bit with food & takeaway box suppliers at the moment, so email ahead info@orenlondon.com to give them as much notice as possible.
