Electric Bike Hire
It’s Monday lunchtime. You’ve tidied your desk, had a couple of coffees, tweaked your to-do list and - being the ultimate multi-tasker - you’ve also done a little work.
So sit back, congratulate yourself on a good start to the week, and take a minute to consider more important matters. Like next weekend.
Making plans for Friday and Saturday evening – assuming that you want to make plans – is going to be pretty easy. Even if those plans are, specifically, to “do nothing” (that is, watch X-Factor). Filling the daytime may, however, be more problematic because if you plan to “do nothing” during the day then there’s a very high chance that you may be “depressed”.
London’s an impossibly large City that aggressively begs to be explored at weekends, but the excessive choice of things to do and places to see often makes it easier to choose doing nothing over doing anything.
What you really want to do is spend a day taking in as much of London as possible, all in one go, above ground, on two wheels, without needing a licence and without having to exert too much effort.
Thankfully all of these things are now available, thanks to London’s first electric bike rental scheme.
For £20 per day you can hire a top of the range “Ultra Motor” electric bike from Hertz’s Marble Arch branch, which gives you the choice to either pedal or be electrically powered along at over 15MPH. Every bike hire includes full training, a lock, optional helmet and a copy of the AA Leisure Guide to London.
E-bikes: the easiest way to spend a Saturday doing everything.
