Alco-Laced Eden Returns To Private Gardens

Cocktails In The City 2021 | The Summer Series

Have we mentioned the weather recently?

No? Well in that case allow us to strip you of both your cynicism and your coat, because sunnier days are a-coming. And right now it looks like they could be a-staying until the end of July… which is fortunate, because that’s when the perfect outdoor, sun-dappled, hot-weather activity Cocktails In The City will, after a month-long hiatus, finally make its short-awaited return to Bedford Square Gardens.

But why should you go? Well for one it is, by some margin, the easiest way to sample a variety of cocktails from some the best cocktail joints in London (and by extension, pretty much the entire world), all of which are packed into a lush, bunting-strewn, tree-lined private garden that’s normally inaccessible to the public. For two it’s happening right next the British Museum, which you can visit after you’re drunk. For three all of the bars at Cocktails In The City are being joined dans les jardins de Bedford by street food, live music, and all manner of demos & tastings – like some sort of alco-laced Eden. And for four tickets cost just £20, including entry and a welcome cocktail.. but Nudge Member tickets, which also cost just £20, include that same welcome cocktail but also a queue jump on entry, and TWO additional cocktails on the house.

It’s all taking place on the weekend of the 23rd & 24th of July, and once again the bars teaming up include a veritable bucket list of the city’s finest, including Cafe Pacifico, Callooh Callay, Electric Shuffle, Funkidory, Kosmopol, Laki Kane, London Cocktail Club, Murder Inc, Nightjar, Oriole, Swift Bars, Swingers, Terroir Tapas, The Coral Room, The Hide Bar, The Piano Works, The United Kingdom Bartenders Guild, ThreeAfter3, Trader Vics and TT Liquor.

Also thrown into this elegant shaker will be some talks & demos on subjects like slushies & s’groppinos, sustainable garnishes & syrups, and classic cocktails; live music from The Piano Works; and food courtesy of Auntie Banh Mi, Barbeque Beer Brothers, Cafe Pacifico and Officina 00.

Then – as a final garnish dropped on top of this experiential cocktail of fun – the Cocktails In The City team will also be donating 10% of all ticket sales directly to The Drinks Trust, a charitable organisation working to support people in the drinks industry who have been affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.

What a lovely twist.

NOTE: Cocktails in the City is taking place on 23rd & 24th July. Tickets cost £20 and are now available here.  Nudge Member tickets – which also cost £20, but include a queue jump on entry and two (read it and leap… for joy) two additional cocktails – are available here (get the passcode at the top of this article).
