The Greenwich Comedy Festival | London’s Biggest Comedy Festival
Want to hear something really funny?
Well in order to do that (between 13th and 17th September, specifically) you’ll need to head along to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich for the annual gagfest that is The Greenwich Comedy Festival.
This is the festival’s 15th year! Which means that it should be really spotty, awkward and addicted to video games. However against all odds it is in fact blemish free, and looking as well-balanced and fresh as ever thanks to an exciting 2023 line up that includes Jack Dee, Ed Gamble, Steward Lee, ventriloquist Nina Conti, Russell Kane, Phil Wang and everyone’s fourth favourite ex-children’s TV presenter, Simon Amstell.
Each of the eight shows (tickets for which cost £26) feature one or two of the biggest names in British comedy who will be performing alongside some of the UK’s brightest up and coming talent. And all of those laughs are going to be served up to ticket holders alongside a selection of bars (pushing a decidedly serious selection of drinks – from champion craft beers and ciders, to botanical gins and delicious wines) and a smorgasbord of street food options including duck and frites from, well, Duck Frites; Jerk Chicken from S Class Kitchen; fresh Japanese fare from Zero Sushi; Lebanese from Emilio’s and dessert (if you have room) from Ravenous Fudge.
NOTE: To check out the line up and book tickets (£26) check out the Greenwich Comedy Festival website here. The shows all start at 19:30, with additional afternoon performances on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September.
