LIONSGATE+ are putting on a pop up driven by pure emotion this weekend, and you’re probably going to like it…
…we just have a feeling.
It’s called The Art Of Emotion, and the basic idea is to showcase the power that art holds to stir intense emotions in us all. You’ll find it at the Shoreditch Boxpark Green this Saturday & Sunday, the 8th & 9th of October, and it’ll be completely free & open to all. Drop in, and you’ll get to see specially commissioned art being created live by five of the UK’s most talented muralists and street artists: BEST | EVER, Cheo, Mr. Cenz, Ngadi Smart and Nyanza D.
For those who don’t keep a finger firmly wedged on the pulse of the UK’s mural & street art scenes, suffice to say that this is a ridiculously talented group, with a hugely diverse range of skillsets & styles. They’re going to be channeling their respective techniques into five key emotional pillars – amazement, passion, thrill, laughter, and wonder. And to help to properly drench you in the artist’s interpretation of these emotions, you’ll also get a pair of headphones (from the same folks who handle The Shard’s silent discos) playing atmospheric music curated to match each feeling.

And the kicker? There’s an interactive element too, wherein everyone is invited to pour their own feelings out onto a shared, collective piece of artwork. Annnnd there are also pieces of “emotional portraiture” taken by renowned photographers, Aritz Dimas Aizpiolea, Eivind Hansen and Shingi Rice for you to take away if you fancy.
Of course, at this point you might be wondering a couple of questions, like who are LIONSGATE+? And, are they going to be providing you with a complimentary goodie bag to take home at the end of this whole thing?
Well, to answer both those questions, LIONGATE+ is the fancy new name for STARZPLAY, the purveyors of some of the most stirring dramas, entertaining comedies, and captivating thrillers for years. The Great? Outlander? Gaslit? They’re host to them all, to name but a few. Basically, they know a thing or two about evoking emotions. Which brings us neatly to the second question, the one about whether or not you’re getting a complimentary goodie bag…
…because yes, you most certainly are.
