Things To Do

Taste No Evil

We’ve decided to stop drinking for good.

Nowadays, we only do it for evil.

Sadly, this means that we’ll be missing out on the Taste No Evil series of spirit masterclasses and cocktail workshops taking place in the intimate, low-lit hooch den that is Original Sin. They’re taking place once a month and will see various experts swing by to induct you into the ways of their own particular poison, before letting you loose on the bar to create your own concoctions. And much like a good gin and tonic, it’s made up of two parts…

Part 1: The Spirit Masterclass

You’ll be greeted by your hosts for the evening, the GM behind the bar and a well-versed spirit ambassador who’ll be primed and ready to bestow upon you a bounty of booze knowledge, whether it’s on a particular spirit or a family of drinks (each session will have a different theme, you see). You’ll learn how the hooch is made, what it rubs along well with, and what won’t work at all. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be ready to take on…

Part 2: The Cocktail Workshop

…where you’ll be let loose on the bar’s collection of liqueurs, extracts, cordials, syrups, infusions, essences and er… soda taps, to whip up your own creation. And if yours wins the experts’ vote, not only will you be entirely justified in lauding it over all your peers for the rest of time, your drink will be featured as the menu’s cocktail of honour for the following month. Plus, as a more immediate prize, you’ll get to take the spirit home with you, to recreate your cocktail there, too.

If you’ve got the bottle.

NOTE: Taste No Evil continues with a rum masterclass on 16th November. Spaces are limited to 10 per session, and cost £20pp. To reserve a spot, email [email protected] or book HERE.
