Things to do

The Coveryard

The Coveryard | Trinity Buoy Wharf

Exactly one day before The Nudge first launched we made a commitment never to recommend gigs, because:

1) People’s musical preferences are often quite subjective and narrow, in a way that their appreciation for, say, alternative dining experiences is not. Meaning that any recommendations we might have made would have been likely to satisfy very few of the people most of the time, plus

2) We only like show tunes.

However at the time of making our commitment we also made an exception to it, which was (and this is the exact pledge we made):

“If anyone ever arranges a magical evening in London’s only lighthouse, with emerging artists like Denai Moore and Sam Brookes performing in front of a full, live orchestra then – assuming that there’s a bar and Austrian street food, and that the orchestra delivers its own versions of modern tunes in a beautiful, symphonious collision of musical genres – we’ll cover it”.

Well as unbelievable as this may sound, we were recently contacted by The Coveryard – a platform for original artists, backed up by a 22-piece chamber orchestra of young professional musicians based in London – who have arranged a magical evening in London’s only lighthouse this Thursday, with emerging artists performing in front of a full, live orchestra!

There’ll be Austrian street food, too.

NOTE: The Coveryard is appearing at London’s last remaining lighthouse, Trinity Buoy Wharf this Thursday 29th May 2014. Tickets cost £14 and are available to buy on Billetto here. You can also learn more about The Coveryard, if you’d like to, by visiting their website.
