Selfridges.
They don’t actually sell fridges.
But they are still extremely cool, as evidenced by the latest building-topper to crown their summit: The Roof Deck Restaurant & Bar. It’s a California-style space with a retractable roof covering (shrewdly acknowledging the fact that we don’t actually share a climate with California), distressed parquet flooring, and wicker lampshades. THE FOOD
You’ll find Cali-style goodness like jalapeno cornbread with a smoked aubergine dip; tuna ceviche with guac & bonito flakes; and larger stuff including charred monkfish with scallops & bacon; a coal-grilled burger with a butter bun and mango salsa; and wood-fired lamb chops. THE DRINK
Cocktails include a cucumber & chilli margarita, some cherry blossom-infused gin (and tonic), watermelon martinis, and a menu of frozen cocktails too.
Which should help you cool down.
