Good pizza places are like good pizzas.
They can be very hard to top.
But the folks at Pizza Pilgrims seem to be doing their damnedest to accomplish both with their seventh branch, at West India Quay. It’s set in one of the historic, grade-I listed brick warehouses by the waterside, which they’ve decorated with the most beautiful pizza boxes from around the world, their signature green chequered floors, and a glittering disco ball shaped like their Fiat van (which they drove around Italy many years ago on the quest for the finest pizza). THE PIZZA PLAYGROUND
This beyond-awesome innovation is a dedicated subterranean games/pizza room, with sofas, a 65″ surround sound TV (with Mario Kart 8 on their Nintendo Switch) a suuuuuper long 16-player custom foosball table, and – back on that terrace upstairs – an outdoor Bocce Ball court. Your pizzas will come to you takeaway style in boxes, and you can book it out for up to a dozen friends. Talking of those pizzas,
THE MENU
Is broadly the same as at the other PP venues, because why mess with a good thing – they have a 460°C wood-burning oven putting out the likes of the spicy ‘Nduja, the rich Smoked Napoli, the earthy Portobello Mushroom & Truffle, and the fennel sausage-loaded Salsiccia E Friarielli.
