But placing themselves squarely at the vanguard of futuristic fashion is the Tommy Hilfiger flagship store on Regent Street, which has recently been given a sleek, Space Odyssey-worthy makeover to become the brand’s first technologically “immersive” store.

Head inside and you’ll find a brightly lit, giant space-wardrobe of a store, dotted with smart screens and changing rooms fitted with IMirrors – which, naturally, can tell exactly which product you’re trying on. This, in turn, means that they can suggest other matching items, different colours, and allow you to summon other sizes to your changing room, directly from the mirror.
Add to this a customisation station, where a full-time tailor sits poised and ready to adjust new purchases in house, and where you can also monogram shirts and suits with your initials, or emboss your bag, wallet or shoes. Or, you could simply select any number of exclusive designs and see them instantly embroidered onto any item.
Whatever suits your suit.
