Valentines Day At Greggs

Valentine’s Day At Greggs

What does everyone want for Valentine’s Day?

A quiche on the lips.

Which is just the first of many reasons why Greggs is the perfect place to spend the most romantic day of the year. And before you dismiss this as satire, please realise that it’s very, very real, and that the people who eat at Greggs don’t need any extra criticism. They have enough on their plates as it is.

THE ROMANCE

So, back to V-day – if you book a table at the Greggs in Clapham, you and your date will be greeted at the door with a glass of prosecco. You’ll then take your seats (fawning over the mood lighting & music, roses, candelabras, and white linen tablecloths), make a joke about the amount of tarts you can see, and take a curious gander at the menu.

THE MENU

It’s a prix fixe, with a starter selection of canapés (including the likes of seasoned pork and puff pastry slider, steak & blue cheese en croute, katsu tortilla wrap, etc.); followed by a choice of Greggs’ signature puff pastry parcels, freshly baked to order, accompanied by oven roasted spiced potato slices and a garnish of fresh Apollo rocket & spinach leaves and sunblush tomatoes.

For dessert, there’ll be an eye-popping brochette (basically a skewered tower) of mini doughnuts paired with a butterscotch dipping sauce, to be followed by Belgian dark chocolate brownie; caramel shortbread; and raspberry & almond petit fours. And it all costs just £15 per person.

Which, ironically, is not a lot of dough.

NOTE: Greggs Clapham will be hosting Valentines Day dinners on the 14th of February, for £15 per head. Bookings will be open on the 7th of Feb via this link HERE.
