…BAM. Along comes this place.
After years of providing glamorously raucous nights out in Paris, Madrid and Bordeaux, BAM Karaoke Box is finally about to hit English shores. BAM (short for ‘boîte à musique‘) is set to be the biggest karaoke venue not just in London, but the whole of Europe, with 22 privately bookable rooms, a cocktail bar that you’ll actually want to hang out in either side of your karaoke slot, a stage for live music, and an open-air terrace where you can cool off between over-enthusiastic renditions of Livin’ On A Prayer.
Set behind a graffiti-plastered facade, all 10,000 sq foot of BAM’s Victoria townhouse will be dressed head-to-toe in wildly lavish decor inspired by Nell Gwynn’s 17th century house parties. Designed by the interiors team behind other such low-key London establishments as Bob Bob Ricard and The Maine in Mayfair, each private booth will have its own decor & theming, while the rest of the venue will be dressed with deconstructed chandeliers, jungle prints and OTT textiles. Essentially, if Big Mamma did karaoke, it would look something like this.
BAM’s been designed as an all-night destination, so the food & drink here should be a cut above your usual karaoke joint. They’ve drafted in Masterchef’s Sabrina Gidda to craft a menu of Modern European dishes like steak tartare croustade and Exmoor caviar flatbreads, plus snacks like fried chicken with hot honey mustard which you can summon directly to your booth. And that sprawling 10ft bar isn’t just taking up space – they’ll be putting together some inventive signature cocktails like the Victoreador (mingling tequila, apricot brandy, Espelette liqueur, Champagne & soda) alongside a menu of luxury shooters.
