Wingjam.
As a condiment, it’s not the best.
But as a fun, niche festival? It’s considerably better.
So it’s good news that it’ll be coming back to town next month (from 17th-19th June) in the cavernous Vaults under Waterloo.
As you might have already keenly surmised, this whole thing is about chicken wings. There’ll be over 40+ varieties to try ranging from your classic hot wings, buffalo wings, and Korean wings, to emerging favourites like lemon pepper wings, whiskey-glazed wings, vegan wings, and sriracha wings. And if you want to go obscure? You can treat yourself to the likes of “doughnut flavour” wings and others. And yes, if you hate your tongue, there will be ferociously hot Carolina Reaper wings.
Helping wash all of this down will be five bars (including a dedicated beer bar and a cocktail bar), and you can expect a little entertainment in the venue’s two theatres & five music rooms – there’ll be live bands, a drag show, a hip-hop tunnel, some burlesque performances, a couple of rounds of ‘Wingo’, and of course, a hot wing contest.
And the best bit? The wings are only £1 a pop.
They’ll be flying.
