As you tuck into your fifth Pret Christmas sandwich before the end of November, you may be left wondering if there’s more to life.
Or more to Christmas sandwiches, at least. And allowing you to deftly sidestep the existential spiral that inevitably awaits at the end of this conundrum is Sarnie Party, which is returning after a majestic debut over the early summer. Only this time, they’ll be pitting some of the city’s best sandwich slingers against each other in a quest to find the best Christmas sandwich in London.
This time they’re taking the party down to Peckham, where it’ll be consuming the Copeland Park warehouse for an entire weekend (15th-17th November). Yes, November, which means that once you’ve identified your own personal favourite, you have plenty more opportunities to enjoy it before Christmas Day itself.
Your £30 ticket will net you three sandwiches of your choice which, as you’ve no doubt noticed, is quite a steep price-per-sando ratio. In return though, they’ve arranged for a genuinely impressive lineup of over 20 chefs & sarnie-smiths to deliver an array of completely unique creations, meaning that you’ll get never-before-seen, never-to-be-served again bread-winners. The upper crust of the outfits involved include Untitled Sandwich Shop, Rogues Sarnies, Ruben’s Reubens, Borough Market’s The Black Pig, TÓU, and a lot more.
And of course, being a Christmas special, this edition of Sarnie Party will also come loaded with all the festive trimmings: mulled wine, festive singalongs, and sweet treats courtesy of Lil Wong Bakes and Happy Endings.
Ironically, it’s looking like it’ll be anything but sub-standard.
