Sosharu’s Alex Craciun Shares His Favourite London Spots

We asked Sosharu’s head chef Alex Craciun where he likes to dine, drink, and while away the hours in London…

Favourite date spot?

Restaurant Story by Tom Sellers.

Favourite brunch spot?

I love Chiltern Firehouse by Nuno Mendes and the Eggs Benedict more specifically. It’s such a beautiful room and in the summer we usually sit outside in the garden. I don’t have brunch very often as I am in the kitchen 6 days a week, so I always try to make it special – that’s why I think Chiltern Firehouse is a perfect place.

Favourite Sunday lunch spot?

Would be Bibendum by Claude Bosi.

Favourite cocktail bar?

The Blind Pig – delicious drinks and very buzzy during the evening.

Favourite place for a casual dinner?

The Laughing Heart by Tom Anglesea – always a good atmosphere, amazing wine list and delicious food.  [UPDATE: Now closed]

Favourite restaurant abroad?

Would be Nihonryori Ryugin (Tokyo ) by chef Seiji Yamamoto

London-based guilty pleasure?

Love going to the Electric Cinema.

Desert Island Dish?

Refreshing shaved ice kakigori with strawberry ice cream and chocolate cookies cream and fresh strawberry salad.

We assume that Alex was just being polite… and didn’t’ want to say that his actual favourite restaurant is Sosharu.
