Jazu

Welcome to Peckham’s latest bar, which promises you cocktails, stylish interiors… and all that Jazu.

It cut the ribbon to its Market Peckham home in June 2023, and it’s a gloriously fun new addition to the beautiful five-storey Edwardian building at the heart of Rye Lane (where you’ll also find the likes of Forza Wine & Mambow).

Saunter inside, and you’ll find a pared-back & minimalist space that bleeds out into the Market Peckham ground floor, all dressed in shades of mahogany brown with dashes of neon. And pretty much everything, from tables, to seats, to lighting fixtures, is made out of wood – including the pair of remarkably beautiful bespoke horn speakers which hold dominion over the space, pumping out the beats all night.

If you happened to head down to Jazu’s popup in Camberwell last year – whose runaway success was responsible for their shiny new permanent venue – then you’ll know just how seriously they take both their music and their cocktails. They include numbers like the refreshing, tequila-laced Watermelon Paloma; a punchy & sharp Yuzu Gimlet; or a smoky & sophisticated Mezcal Negroni. There’s also a tight selection of organic wine to peruse, as well as a couple of dishes provided by their talented Market Peckham neighbours.

And as for the sounds? Well, those gorgeous speakers will be serving up an infectious array of tunes from the all-vinyl record collections of the evening’s DJs. The music runs the glorious gamut from soul, to funk, disco, jazz and worldly records, with a whole lot of undiscovered gems in there that you’ll be glad you came across.

Much like the bar itself.
